# Testing SITL without a transmitter or gamepad

If you want to test out a simulation for mission planning or other ground station features, you would need to use the auto flight mode. In order to make this work without a gamepad, change the auto mode options as shown below.&#x20;

This setup allows the simulated drone to arm and take off autonomously, making it easier to test mission workflows without physical controller input.
